Day 6 of 7: Malaysia Trip
Muar to Pontian
136kms
The first thing I saw this morning was over 200 monkeys terrorizing the trees in front of the hotel. They even destroyed the flower planter. I wonder if Malaysian authorities shoot them to control them? They lose their cuteness, when they destroy or steal stuff. đđđ
After eating at Arabian restaurant I headed out with light rain. It would be a 14 hour day to reach Pontian City.
Pontian will get me closer to Singapore border for tomorrow. đ¸đŹ
My biggest highlight was teaching an intersection that would be the entrance of a highway going through the jungle. It seemed to be 74kms long on Google. I was really getting ready to do it. I saw no other roads. It was the hwy referred by my biker mapping app also.
All of a sudden, a "M" couple pull up in motorcycle and convinced me it was not the best way to go. With only a 2km adjustment, I found different hwy that would take me over 80kms to my finish line for the day in Pontian. Thank you Lord!
I found a new 7/11 being renovated. I gave the manager some suggestions that would follow the example of the 7/11s in the Philippines: add seating benches/tables inside and/or outside. No 7/11s in all of Malaysia have seating areas? Dah! đŞđŞ
Decided to ride into the night from 6pm to nearly 9:30pm to reach my destination.
While taking a break, a "M" on a motorcycle was in the mood to talk. He worked as policeman before, and went to Croatia before with UN. Sometimes, I think they want to practice their English. đ¤Ł
Some cities are heavy Chinese and some cities are heavy Hindu. Our organization should consider "these types" of cities since we have more freedom here. đđ¨đł
Tomorrow, is my race to the finish in Singapore. I have border crossing, money exchange, and get new Sim card again. đđ¸đŹđ´ââď¸
