Day 4 of 7: Malaysia Trip
Banting to Pasir Panjang š“āāļøš²š¾
103kms
My highlight will be my housing find at the end of the day. More on that later š
I got a late start because of flat tire again: my 3rd in four days. It was flat this morning when I started.
My Komoot maps took me on some off-roads again. It was adventurous, but I preferred the highway. Followed 5 nearly all day.
I found a abandoned vendor table and roofing to hide under as I waited for the rain to start and to almost finish. I was joined by a man on a motorcycle named Lim. I got tired of waiting for the rain to stop so I just started going anyhow in the rain. It eventually stopped in about 2 hours and got real hot again. š§š¦
I was following my map and it led to a deadend where a private school was being built, and just when I was deciding what to do at Chinese lady pulled up in her motorcycle and led me around on another road which eventually led to a ferry that crosses a river. It was like a short 60 second ferry ride and she even paid my fee for me $.50. Praise God!
While passing a city called Port Dickson, all the beaches, tourism, and restaurants and hotels were lined up. It's the first tourist area I have seen in four days, but...
I could not stop here but needed to continue on at least 25 more kms.
When I arrived at small city, I could not find housing. I back peddled 2kms to a Resort, beautiful, with all kinds of services but...it was too expensive.
Discouraged from the super high price, I decided to quick eat. I was going to continue on into the night.
The manager talked to me and gave me huge 37% discount! I was so humbled by his generosity, I will not even touch the bed, won't shower, I'm sleeping on the floor in my sleeping bag. I will leave super early.
I do not want to take advantage of this guy's kindness. They will not even be able to tell someone slept here last night. Wow!
I have three days remaining to ride 309kms to reach Singapore. š“āāļøšøš¬
